FAQS

Your Santa Run Questions Answered

1. Can children take part?

Absolutely! The Derby Santa Run is a family event, and we encourage runners of all ages to join in. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

2. Are dogs allowed?

Yes! Well-behaved dogs are free and welcome to join in the fun. Make sure they’re comfortable around crowds, and don’t forget to dress them up in festive gear or one of our bandanas! (Bandanas available to purchase for £3 via the website).

3. How can I fundraise?

While fundraising is optional, we encourage all participants to fundraise for their chosen cause. Once you’ve registered, you can start fundraising by creating a page on platforms like JustGiving. Your efforts will help provide vital support to local healthcare services.

4. What do I need to wear?

Festive costumes are highly encouraged! Every runner will receive a free santa suit to wear for the event. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

5. Will there be parking?

Parking is available at Markeaton Park, Derby, DE22 3BE, (parking is £2.80 up to 2 hours, £4.40 up to 4 hours, £5.50 for over 4 hours).  Payment is via coins or the MiPermit Cashless Parking system. https://www.derby.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/parking-in-derby/mipermit-cashless-parking/

The park may get busy so we recommend arriving early or using public transport where possible.

(prices as per the Derby City Council Website, 30 September 2024).

6. What happens if it rains?

The Derby Santa Run is a rain-or-shine event! We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather. In the event of extreme conditions, we’ll provide updates via email and social media.

7. I can’t run 5k. Can I still participate?

Of course! The Santa Run is all about having fun, the course is 2 x 2.5k laps so feel free to walk, jog, or skip your way through all or half the course. The accessible course is wheelchair and pushchair friendly.

8. Santa Suit Collection:
